(PIZZA BOX MADE FROM 100% RECYCLED PAPER)

Hal Porter announced today that Star Pizza Box, the nation’s largest provider of custom pizza boxes, is introducing the “Planet Earth Box,” a pizza box made from 100% recycled paper, to be sold nationwide.

(Lakeland, Florida – August 22, 2012) – Hal Porter, CEO of Star Pizza Box, announced today that the company will soon introduce the “Planet Earth Box,” a 100% recycled Pizza Box to distributors nationwide  “As industry leaders, we feel Star is uniquely situated to provide pizza boxes to the masses that do not require the cutting down of trees,” said Mr. Porter.  “The paper for these boxes will be made at the mill with 100% recycle paper.”

“Typical pizza boxes use in the area of 50-70% virgin content (trees),” said Mr. Porter.  “But 100% recycled boxes have been prohibitively priced to be commercially viable in the past. Due to various inventory and cost factors, the initial cost will be about 7% higher than a traditional pizza box, yet still substantially lower than current costs of other comparable boxes.  We feel the price will come down on this box as we mass produce it and it gains acceptance in the market place.  At these now competitive prices, we feel there is a market for this box, for people that believe like us, that sustainability is not just a catch phrase that is currently trendy.  We feel sustainability is about the future of this Earth, this Planet Earth.”

White on Kraft and Kraft on Kraft will be available at the Lakeland, FL and Atlanta, GA locations while only the Kraft on Kraft “Planet Earth Box” will be available at the Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX and Columbus, OH locations. “These boxes will be sold on a first come, first serve basis, as there is currently limited capacity,” said Mr. Porter.  “Due to our nationwide network of distributors, we can provide this as a custom box with a 10 case minimum to an individual Pizza Shop from Seattle to Miami.”

Star Pizza Box specializes in custom pizza boxes with an in-house team of graphic artists that can get new product designs in production faster than anyone in the industry.  Those artists, along with high quality and high speed printers, have assisted in making boxes by Star Pizza Box a nationwide best seller.  In addition, a small company attitude focusing on customer service starts at the top, despite selling 200 million boxes annually. “The true difference is Mr. Porter. He started the business twenty years ago printing the boxes and delivering them in person,” said Charlie Kidd, Chief Financial Officer of Star Pizza Box.  “He understands every aspect of the business.  He’s physically done each aspect and will personally get involved to resolve an issue.  We are unique in that we are the only major player in the Pizza Box industry that does primarily Pizza Boxes.”  Star’s program was designed for distributors as Star maintains on-hand inventory which allows for high fill rates and mixed truckloads, so distributors have faster turns and greater space to inventory other product lines.”
